BMEL Announcement: Food environments for improved nutrition

Funding of research projects of German, African, South and Southeast Asian partners on the topic of "Food environments for improved nutrition"

In 2019, the BMEL published a third research announcement, entitled "Food environments for improved nutrition", as part of the funding instrument "International research cooperation for global food security". This call aimed to promote research cooperation projects, which contribute to strengthening or transforming local food environments and thus improve the nutrition of local populations in Sub-Saharan Africa and South and Southeast Asia.

The funded cooperation projects are conducting research for a better understanding of the target-group-specific dietary behaviour and habits, their corresponding drivers and possible ways of influencing them in favour of health-promoting diets in rural as well as urban contexts.
